The Liberal Democrats have chosen Petersfield resident Louise Bevan to stand as your next county councillor and it will be a two-horse race between her and the Conservatives in May.
Louise lives in Petersfield where her parents lived for many years. Louise went to school locally and then studied to become an economist.
An experienced and influential economist. Louise has worked for the many international institutions including United Nations’ agencies. She believes in investing resources wisely for the future, protecting vulnerable people, and taking care of our environment.
Louise is ready to work hard as your councillor to ensure that good quality local and rural services are provided and our environment is properly protected.
Louise has actively campaigned for better social care in our area. She challenged the decision of the county council to close our local care home, Bulmer House. Louise says, “The Bulmer House closure resulted in elderly residents being moved and now our area has been left without enough dementia-friendly housing. The site has now been unused for more than three years. Petersfield deserves better!”
Louise volunteers with the Petersfield Community Garden as treasurer and fund raiser.
On May 4th it’s a clear choice between community champion Louise Bevan and the Conservatives.
