Alton Liberal Democrats were pleased to welcome Cllr Adam Carew, Parliamentary Candidate for East Hants at their Annual General Meeting on 23 November. Also present were Cllr Jerry Janes, Lib Dem Leader at East Hants District Council and Cllr Allan Chick, who is Mayor of Alton as well as a Town and District Councillor. Many other councillors and activists were amongst those present.

£11,500 that's the bill Hampshire Residents will have to pay for the latest meeting of Conservative County Council leader's so called Hampshire Senate. The Senate was the brainchild of Ken Thornber - Hampshire County Council's Conservative Leader who appoints it members and presides as its self-anointed leader. The £11,500 latest Senate meeting lasted all of 6 1/2 hours costing Hampshire residents almost £30 a minute.

Most of us would never think of spending £12,000 on a new bathroom suite. But Conservatives in Hampshire decided to splash the cash on their renovated Civic Centre - and spent a whopping £12,000 of council taxpayers' money on just six designer taps.

There were angry at Penns Place last week as councillors did battle of the EHDC Budget Debate. The controversy began as ruling Conservatives refused to reveal their "earth shattering" revenue raising plans until Budget meeting and then failed to provide any costings as to how they would make enough money to fund their ever increasing funding gap.
